Pardak®110 at multi-storey car park Southmead hospital

4 November 2015

Southmead Hospital is a large hospital, situated in the northern suburbs of Bristol, part of the North Bristol NHS Trust. North Bristol NHS Trust and Carillion signed a contract for a major expansion and the hospital is set to become the most sustainable major acute hospital in the UK with a carbon footprint below the government target, and a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’. BDP, as part of the Carillion consortium, was responsible for the design. The new hospital presents a high quality public face utilising a semi-randomised façade aesthetic giving a non-institutional character to the bedroom wings.

The new building, called the Brunel building, includes 800 beds, 24 theatres, patient gardens, a public square and a helipad. A brand new multi-storey car park specifically for patients and visitors will be created right next door to the main entrance, enabling people to directly access the Brunel building under cover.

Zoontjens will realise the first parking level of this car park with the Pardak®110 system. Over 1600 m² will be installed from the first of November.
