Rooftop car park for CERN in Geneva

31 March 2014

CERN is a European organisation that carries out fundamental research into elementary particles. The organisation is based in Geneva on the border between France and Switzerland.

The CERN complex comprises a series of buildings, and on one of those buildings Zoontjens has been awarded the order to install rooftop parking facilities. A start was recently made on insulating the roof with Foamglas. This Foamglas layer will then be sanded smooth and a layer of bitumen will be applied, thereby providing a clean and level substrate for the Pardak®110 system. The first Pardak® 110 slabs will be laid in May. The rooftop car park covers a total surface area of 2000 m2, and we expect to conclude the project in June.
