The upper floor of a car park in Redhill needed refurbishment. The Zoontjens Pardak® system was a perfect answer to the requirements.
Parking is a considerable benefit
With over 17,000 car parks across the UK, most think of a typical car park as a large ground-level lot or expansive basement space. Yet, in the hidden backstreets of urban areas, tucked between office buildings and residential complexes, lie numerous smaller podium deck car parks. Built during the 1970s and 80s, many of these decks remain structurally sound but are in need of waterproofing upgrades to extend their usability.
Continue the business
One such deck, located near Redhill Town Centre amidst recently refurbished office buildings, required an efficient waterproofing solution due to high demand for local parking and limited space. In such cases, speed and minimal disruption are essential for a successful refurbishment.
Partnership
Waterproofing specialist StructureCare has a longstanding partnership with Zoontjens, collaborating on projects to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions. For the Redhill project, Zoontjens introduced its Pardak rooftop car park system—a modular, rapid-install paving solution that sits atop the waterproof membrane or insulation layer. This system not only protects the waterproofing but also provides a robust, trafficable surface.
Quick and smart
With a car park size of approximately 600 square meters, the Zoontjens installation team completed the setup, installation, and handover within a week following the waterproofing. The project, executed with partners StructureCare and Tolly Paving, demonstrates the power of quick, collaborative solutions to meet the unique challenges of podium deck car park refurbishments.
Experience proves
Zoontjens considerable experience, with our qualified approved sub-contractors, not only in site management but in internation logistics, enabled, this project to be completed rapidly and with the surfacing removed from the critical path of the project.
