The Cité Administrative in Liège is a complex of offices housing the various municipal and public services of the city. The 1967 building has undergone a complete renovation. Rooftop terraces are now part of the new structure, including a fantastic panoramic rooftop terrace on top.
Sustainable landmark
The 67-meter-high, 18-story landmark in Liège has been completely stripped and renovated to become fully CO2-neutral. The renovation was achieved with support from the European Union and Wallonia and now serves as a model building, leading the way in both technological advancements and sustainable energy challenges.
New rooftop terraces
A new four-story volume has been built on the south side of the tower, creating open space around the building. This new construction also allowed for the creation of rooftop terraces on both the third and fourth floors. These serve as spaces for meetings or enjoying the outdoors during lunch. However, the real highlight is on the 18th floor: a 425-square-meter rooftop terrace offering a view of the city from above. This terrace is open to the public on the first Sunday of every month.
Truly HIGHER GROUND
Zoontjens’ systems were used for the installation of all the rooftop terraces. On the 3rd and 4th floors, totaling 235 square meters, we used Dreen®Magna slabs in the size 60x60x4.4 and color Light Grey. For the 18th floor, a larger, heavier tile was needed due to the height. Here, we used Dreen®Robusto 120x60x8 in the color Black. The result is a stunning spot on HIGHER GROUNDS.
