School, youth center, and numerous associations—all located in one place in Vorselaar, Belgium. The Kampus, as it is called, is brand new, and the rooftop playground is the finishing touch!
New construction
CZAAR Architects and construction company Dethier were tasked with creating a new kindergarten and youth campus on a developed site in the heart of Vorselaar. The existing building on the street has been replaced by a new structure that stands perpendicular to the street. This arrangement now allows for green play areas on both sides.
Community school
The Kampus is a place where current and future generations of children and young people will spend a lot of time in various stages of their lives. It is not just a school building but a place where other activities can take place during non-school hours, both indoors and outdoors.
Playful rooftop
The youth campus is located on the first floor and features a rooftop playground above the kindergarten classrooms. This rooftop area has been playfully designed by the architect, combining greenery, pavement, and benches. Zoontjens’ expertise was called upon for the pavement installation. The architect and construction company chose Dreen®Nxt in the color Urban Grey. With a well-planned layout and precise cutting, the result is exactly as designed.
