Qurios
resort
Gulpen

The Qurios Resort, surrounded by the undulating landscape of Limburg, opened its doors in 2021. This magnificent holiday park is located partly in woodland and partly on an open hillside. At the bottom of the hill is the main building with a superb rooftop terrace where guests can enjoy a meal, a drink and the view.

TWO WORLDS

The holiday park was designed by 2by4-architect. They created holiday homes that fit perfectly in this typical Limburg landscape of woodland and open hillside pastures. The design means that the park has two halves and sits as it were in two worlds: one in woodland and the other with panoramic views. The project was developed by Inleisure and built by Ten Brinke. The park operators are Roompot.

FABULOUS VIEWS

The park offers 185 holiday homes in fourteen types. Landscape and architecture match seamlessly. At the bottom of the hill, in the wooded section, is the main building consisting of a rectangular substructure, partially embedded in the hill, and topped by a triangular steel pavilion. The substructure houses among others the reception area and the park shop. The pavilion on top is the restaurant. The roof of the substructure is in the form of a magnificent green rooftop terrace that offers the best views across the hills.

GREEN ROOFTOP TERRACE

The roof was waterproofed by Hendrikx Daksystemen. Snoek Puur Groen was responsible for the finishing of the roof and the surrounding outdoor area. The walkable section of the rooftop terrace is finished in Dreen®Ceramica by Zoontjens; these slabs require little maintenance and are perfect for restaurant use. Because part of the building is embedded in the hillside, it is possible to walk from the green rooftop terrace directly into the natural surroundings. With a combination of planting, paving and solar panels on the highest roof section, this truly is a multifunctional roof.
